Beads of Bali

Citrine is a type of quartz with a color that ranges from yellow to brown. "Citrine" is derevied from the latin word for "yellow" -- citrina. 

In nature, citrine is rare.  Most "citrine beads" sold on the commerical market these days are actually heat-treated amethyst or other kinds of quartzes.
