Aventurine Beads
Aventurine is a type of quartz valued for its translucency. The inclusion of mineral plates gives aventurine beads a shimmering appearance. Aventurine is most often green in color, but can take on other colors due to various minerals and other factors. Among the colors in the Aventurine rainbow are orange, brown, blue, yellow, and gray. Fichsite (muscovite mica) gives aventurine beads a blue or green appearance. Orange and brown aventurine is usually due to the presence of goethite or hematite. Aventurine is occasionally dyed or heat treated to bring out other colors and more saturated coloring.
