Sterling Silver Box Clasps
The typical box clasp has two parts-- a decorative female part that includes loops for beading wire or jump rings and a male part that snaps close when inserted into the decorative base. Box clasps are a bit more challenging to use, especially when incorporated into a necklace.
People differ considerably in their preference for a tight versus loose fit. Most box clasps can easily be adjusted with a pair of pliers. If your box clasp is too difficult to push to open, pinch the mail part to bring the folded catch closer together. If your box clasp opens too easily, pry open the male part for a tighter fit.
