Sterling Silver Brooches
The term brooch is typically used to describe large, decorative pins worn by women. Although not nearly as popular as in the past, many women continue to incorporate brooches into their fashion sense. Michelle Obama is often seen sporting a beautiful brooch when in formal settings.
Brooches are most often worn on the lapel of a jacket or blazer. A brooch can also be used to keep a button-down sweater or cardigan closed. Brooches can even be used as a hair accessory, for example, at the base of a pony tail.
The Balinese love to make big, shiny brooches that are a bit too flashy for the typical Western woman. Fortunately, they are fully capable of making smaller versions of their designs and have been better in recent years at tailoring their art to the wishes of women from other cultures who prefer more understated designs.
