Beads of Bali

We started to carry silver-plated beads and findings when silver prices soared as a way to give price conscious customers a way to incorporate the look of silver into their designs at an affordable price.  At first, our silver-plated items did not sell well; they were perceived to be "cheap."  However, as silver prices soared from around $4 an ounce to more than $48/ounce, solid sterling silver became prohibitively expensive for many customers.

It is our prediction that silver prices will remain high for years to come.  Silver is an important material in electronics (even solar panels), and the mines are just not producing enough of it. We believe that high silver prices will lead to a greater appreciation of silver-plated items.

Like most of our competitors, we used an electroplating process to coat based metal beads and findings with a thin layer of silver.
