Removing tarnish is a bit inconvenient. Wouldn't be nice if there were a product that would prevent build up of tarnish between uses of your favorite jewelry pieces? There is -- 3M Anti-Tarnish Strips! The idea behind this product is very simple. Tarnish is caused by sufides and other pollutants in the air. If you can store your jewelry pieces in an air tight container between uses, the tarnsih process will be slowed even if you do not use this product. However, if you place a strip in the container, it will absorb the chemicals in air within the container that cause tarnish.

3M Anti-Tarnish Strips can also protect gold, brass, nickel, tin and copper jewelry, as well as other items made with these materials.

We stored our bright sterling items, such as the sterling fertility bead to the left, in small ziplock bags with a strip to prevent tarnish. Zip lock bags are great because they truly are air tight. This process really works! In fact, we would cut strips into smaller pieces to make them go further. One strip is suppose to protect against a cubic foot of airspace, so you can see that using an entire strip for one zip lock bag would be overkill.

This product is essentially absorbant paper. It will not hurt your product, is non-toxic, releases no fumes,and leaves no residue.
