We have been involved in the jewelry trade in Indonesia for three generations. Our family has operated in Bali, Java, and Sumatra. Traditionally, our production was exported to Europe. About 10 years ago, we began selling premium quality sterling silver beads and findings here at www.beadsofbali.com and had more than 8,000 customers (maybe you!).
Although our family members continue to be involved in this business, we decided to back away so we could have more time to enjoy life a bit more (we're getting old) and focus our professional activities on businesses that have more promise. High precious metal costs have led many of our former competitors to do the same thing.
It has been a wonderful journey. We have come to know so many exceptional silversmiths, goldsmiths, and glass bead makers in Bali and Java. We have been able to roam the magnificent Rudraksha groves of Sumatra and have waded in the pearl farms of Java. Best of all, we have been able to serve countless customers in the U.S. and more than 30 countries.
It's time for us to share what we know about this industry and by doing so, cultivate a greater appreciation for the wonderful and skilled artisans in Bali and beyond.
