About Beads of Bali

We have been involved in the jewelry trade in Indonesia for three generations; historically, much of our family members' output was exported to Europe.  Beads of Bali was established as an American company in 2002 to bring our beads and jewelry to this continent.  We are incorporated in the State of California and operate out of the San Francisco Bay Area.  We have production facilities in Bali and Java.

Beads of Bali's operations are based in Emeryville, California.  Our Bali operations are run by the owners' nephew, Miming, an accomplished jewelry maker in his own right.  Miming has been making jewelry for more than 20 years.  Our Java operations are managed by the owners' brother, Afong, a businessman with much experience in International trade.

We care deeply about the quality of our products and our customers' satisfaction.  This company provides jobs for many members of our family in Indonesia.  By taking good care of our customers, we can take good care of our family.  Furthermore, our ability to rely upon trusted family members allows us to keep our travel and other costs down, which lets us offer premium quality sterling silver beads and findings at highly competitive prices. 

We are grateful that more than eighty-five percent of our orders come from repeat customers and that our beads are being sold in bead stores and craft shops throughout the United States, as well as in Canada and the United Kingdom.  We are thankful that professional jewelry makers from around the world turn to us for their sterling silver needs.  We have customers from virtually every developed country on every continent.

We also appreciate and care deeply about the many silversmiths who work with us.  We offer them nourishing meals (hungry workers are not productive workers), housing when needed, and livable wages.  Our Indonesian management team allows us to attract the best silversmiths, who would rather report to someone who speaks their language and shares their cultural heritage.  Our American values allow us to make use of the skills of all qualified silversmiths, regardless of gender.  Approximately one-half of our artisans are women.
